Olde Hickory Golf & Country Club

It's easy to point out the magnificent recent clubhouse addition, a golf course that is incredibly well-maintained and lets you play many times a week even in busy season. There are a multitude of social activities, the excellent food offered at the club and exceptional management and staff who make it all happen as reasons why we love living here. But you can find many of those in other communities. What sets Olde Hickory apart for us are the amazing neighbors and friends that we are so fortunate to have. People who are willing to do anything for you and then have a cocktail to celebrate another great day and how lucky we all are to have found Olde Hickory.

Pam & Bob, Ohio
I love living at Olde Hickory because our community is large enough to have a variety of personalities and opportunities, but small enough to know many people and be part of a smaller family atmosphere.  With only 561 residences, we can play golf as often as we want.  Our newly expanded Clubhouse is beautiful and the food is very good.  During covid, our community has used common sense to keep people safe and still allow them to play golf. We are blessed to live here.

Van & Stan, St. Louis, MO
We have lived at Olde Hickory for 26 years. If you want a smaller community (only 561 residences) allowing you to play more golf on a beautifully maintained golf course with the many friends you will make here with our friendly, helpful members, then this is the place to be. If you don’t play golf, there are many other things to do such as tennis, pickleball, cards, mahjong, working out in the fitness center or just relaxing at the bar with your friends in the newly renovated club house. Come enjoy the relaxed lifestyle at Olde Hickory.

Jim, Indiana
I moved to Olde Hickory ten years ago from Southern California to be nearer family and friends living in the area.  After visiting several communities, I chose Olde Hickory for several reasons:  it appeared to be well managed and financially healthy. The community is attractive and well maintained with a highly rated golf course and close to a major airport and shopping areas. Since that time these observations have been reconfirmed.  Additionally, the golf course and driving range have been upgraded, clubhouse and exercise facility expanded, and pickle ball courts added.

I have found living in Olde Hickory is low-stress with friendly people and a well-maintained community. We have an excellent chef and staff, the menu and food are very satisfactory, and our expanded grill and dining areas to enjoy.  Tee times are readily available and the golf course is always challenging!

I'm happy I chose Olde Hickory for my year around home.

Pam & John, Missouri
6 years ago, my husband and I moved to Olde Hickory from our home in Kansas City. We didn't know anybody and felt a little intimated. We shouldn't have. Our realtor who also lives here made sure we met a friendly group that had recently moved themselves. It was so easy to make future friends with the women’s and men's golf association There are numerous card groups, jewelry making classes, dominoes to just name a few groups you could join.

The clubhouse has recently been redecorated and enlarged.  We are so excited to have it completed this year. The dining is outstanding and the parties are great fun. The fitness center and exercise classes are primed to keep us stay healthy.

John and I know this is the best decision we have ever made.

Linda & Charlie, UK & Ontario
Olde Hickory is recognized for its wonderful Golf Course and golf practice facilities. It also boasts top notch tennis and pickleball courts, mahjong and card groups to suit everyone and a recently renovated and expanded Club House.

In all that, the one thing Olde Hickory should be renowned for, its greatest strength, it's members. When my husband and I first relocated to South West Florida we visited several area golf course communities, played golf at some, ate lunch or dinner at others and actually rented at one for three months to better get a feel for the people who lived there. The first time we visited Olde Hickory was to stay for a weekend with old friends who lived here at that time. We returned several times over the next few years and each time were greeted by members with extraordinary warmth and a keen sense of community bond. Ultimately, that is why we settled in Olde Hickory and we have never regretted that decision.

You may choose Olde Hickory for its amenities but you will stay for its kind and welcoming members.

Joe & Connie, Minnesota
We enjoy Olde Hickory because:
The members are friendly and nice.
The total number of members is relatively small (compared to a lot of clubs) so tee times are available every day.
The golf course itself is always in great shape and very challenging.
We now have one of the most impressive, beautiful and state-of-the-art clubhouses in SW Florida.
The physical location of our community is very handy - close to shopping, many restaurants and 10 minutes from the airport.

Frank & Peg, Illinois
I am not an athlete but there is much to fill my days with joy and camaraderie at OHCC! Neighbors are warm, welcoming and helpful. The home-owner groups have socials each month and the parties at the clubhouse are lively and engaging. Lunches and dinners are really special. Guided tours are offered almost every month to Florida sights such as the Salvador Dali Museum.

I fill my days with time at the pool and fitness center, group games, gardening, long walks, Florida Gulf Coast University’s Renaissance Program, a top-notch book club and volunteering at Galisano Children's Hospital. I delight in dinner parties. The Fort Myers Community Concerts and the Florida Repertory Theater energize my cultural cravings. This enchanting environment delights me. What have I done to deserve this luxury?

Carl & Linda, New Jersey
Linda and I moved to Old Hickory from New Jersey.  What we love the most about the club is that the members are like family.  We know and socialize with more people here in the past three years than we did after living in our New Jersey neighborhood for over twenty years. The golf is also amazing.  You never get tired of the challenges that each hole presents on our well-maintained golf course. And, our recently completed renovation to our clubhouse is simply amazing. The club is also centrally located to the airport, restaurants, and shopping. Simply a great place to have a second home or to retire. We LOVE it here.
